The Dubai Municipality, together with the Food Quality Control Department, has launched a food safety campaign under the slogan “Pack correctly.” The goal of the campaign is to promote the proper use of special food packaging materials.
"The modern lifestyle of the townspeople dictates special conditions for preparing and storing food for daily consumption at home, at school and in the office. Each packaging material has an interaction with drink and food depending on storage, freezing or heating," say representatives of the Dubai Department of Food Quality Control .
A special advertising campaign, which started in Dubai in June this year, should explain what are the pros and cons of various types of food packaging that are used at home and in commerce, as well as what could be a health hazard.
The campaign will consist of three stages and will last until October 2011. During it, a series of seminars will be held to familiarize with the necessary information. It is planned to attract schools and offices of large campaigns to participate in it.
