Bed tents became a bestseller in the UAE

Bed tents have become a bestseller in the UAE, but the manufacturer warns of their insecurity.

Dubai, UAE. Single tents, mounted on a bed, became a real bestseller in the United Arab Emirates among expats with a low standard of living, forced to live in hostel paintings. According to the supplier of products, at present its stocks in stores are exhausted.

A tent with a height of 85 cm costs only 139 dirhams (US $ 38), but it provides personal space for those who have to share the bedroom with strangers (or one person). Meanwhile, the supplier company reports that the tents were not tested for fire safety and were not originally intended for use in residential premises.

It should be noted that cohabitation of non-relatives, i.e. the conversion of apartments and villas into dormitories in Dubai, is officially prohibited, however, for many low-paid workers, this option is the only way to save some money from their salaries to send them to their family.

Living in a common room is called a bed, the monthly rent for which starts from 500 dirhams per month. Inhabitants of such dwellings usually use curtains to protect themselves from prying eyes and the light that neighbors turn on at night. One of the disadvantages of tent beds is that it does not fit on a bunk bed.
