Gateway to history

The official name of this hotel - Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai, was given to him in honor of the legendary Arab traveler and wandering merchant Ibn Battuta Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Abdallah alLavati at-Tanji, who traveled all the countries of the Islamic world - from Bulgar to Mombasa, Tim, and even wrapped up on the way to the territory of Crimea.

At first, the story of his wanderings inspired the creation of the thematic shopping center Ibn Battuta Mall in Dubai, which in several years of its work has become very popular among citizens and guests of the emirate. And last year, next to the shopping center, the new Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel Dubai opened its doors hospitably, with its appearance, really reminiscent of the giant gates that you would like to open a bit ...

Everyone has long been accustomed to beautiful and unusual hotels in the United Arab Emirates. It just so happened that it’s not interesting for anyone to build a hotel here, everyone is trying to find some “highlight” that would attract as many guests as possible. In the case of the Ibn Battuta Gate hotel, under the management of the well-known hotel chain Movenpick Hotels & Resorts, there was no need to invent anything, the idea lay on the surface. The hotel, although it is a city, rightfully bears "5 stars", because it offers its guests unrivaled comfort and convenience, imbued with the spirit of travel of the famous Ibn Battuta.

The concept of this hotel also differs from everything that appeared on the hospitality market earlier. Each of its ten floors, including halls, corridors and guest rooms, is decorated in accordance with the traditions of the country in whose honor it is named. The order of countries was selected in accordance with the route that Ibn Battuta was moving, and looks like this, if you start from the first floor and go up: China, India, Persia, Egypt, Russia (here, apparently, Crimea and partially the Black Sea coast are meant) , Thailand, Turkey, Tanzania, Morocco and Andalusia.

For accommodation, guests are offered 396 rooms, including 44 suites of various classes - from Executive to Royal. All rooms are spacious, comfortable and tastefully decorated. They have everything necessary for living, including a standard set: a safe, a minibar, tea and coffee making facilities, bottled drinking water, as well as additional amenities - a wide selection of pillows, bathrobes and slippers, an iron and ironing board, a crib or clamshell (available on request). Each suite has a spacious terrace with city views. It’s not a sea view, of course, but it’s a real urban landscape with the Jebel Ali Free Economic Zone peering through the buildings and blue trains of the Dubai Metro gliding right under the windows.

Bathrooms feature large bathtubs and rainfall showers. In the rooms you can use the services of both high-speed wired and Wi-Fi Internet access, however, for a fee. But in all the halls and foyers, as well as in rooms for meetings and negotiations, equipped with the latest technology, wireless Internet access is available for free.

This hotel does not yet have its own spa, it is expected that a specialized spa center will appear in it only next year, however, a huge outdoor pool on the roof of the eighth floor and The adjacent gym with state-of-the-art equipment has already been launched at full capacity and is open for visitors from 6 a.m. There is also a beauty salon and a hairdresser. In addition, there is an Olive Tree bar near the pool, where drinks are served as early as 10 a.m. And if you suddenly want the guests to the sea, here the hotel will offer them a unique solution - their own free buses and free entrance to the elite private beach Oceana Residences on the man-made island Palm Jumeirah, which is also managed by the hotel chain Movenpick Hotels & Resorts. However, the biggest pride of the Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel can be safely called its restaurants and bars, all as one, located in the huge lobby of the first floor.

The 24-hour Mistral restaurant offers international dishes prepared right there in open kitchens by chefs from different countries (mainly, again, those visited by Ibn Battuta). The huge hall of this restaurant is designed for the simultaneous reception of up to 250 guests. Next to it is Chor Bar, a modern Indian restaurant, where main dishes are prepared in traditional tandoori clay ovens.

The charming Italian restaurant Sicilia, decorated in a rustic style, will delight gourmets with the best dishes of different regions of Italy in a modern interpretation. The elegant Chinese restaurant Shanghai Chic specializes in the most popular dishes of Shanghai cuisine, and on Fridays invites everyone to "dumplings", that is, it serves a sumptuous buffet with a variety of types of dim sums (Chinese dumplings).

In the Moroccan restaurant Maroc Lounge & Bar, you can not only have a great dinner, but also smoke a pipe or two of fragrant hookah in the company of good friends. On the spacious Majlis terrace, everything has a leisurely conversation. Here they also serve shisha for people who are comfortably located in separate tents, and also serve strong and sweet coffee, aromatic varieties of the best tea and dates. If a guest suddenly wants to have a snack during the day, then a large selection of sweets, fresh pastries and other delicacies is presented at Pastane @ Ibn Battuta. Those who can’t sleep can enjoy the recently opened nightclub with incendiary music and a great party.

Guests who come to Dubai with their children will have something to keep their kids busy at the Camel Club. But still, the largest selection of ways for a great vacation, entertainment and a good time for the whole family is presented outside the Ib Battuta Gate Hotel, because it is just the gateway between the past and the future.

It's time to hurry to open them and plunge into the world of the Emirates, filled with colors, sounds and aromas of the fairy-tale East ... Perhaps it is from this journey that your own route will begin in distant countries that still remain to be known.
