Women can get a free cardiac exam in a number of Dubai malls.
Dubai Health Authority (DHA) provides free heart screening for women at malls in Dubai as part of the 10th Feel the Beat Regional Campaign.
A two-month campaign launched by the Majid Al Futtaim Group in collaboration with the American Heart Association and the UAE Cardiology Society, aims to disseminate information on cardiovascular diseases, prevention and the importance of their early detection.
The campaign is specifically targeted at women. So the organizers want to dispel the myth that cardiovascular disease is more threatening to men than women.
A study conducted earlier by Nielsen found that Gulf residents are facing two main problems: high cholesterol and overweight. Both problems are risk factors for heart disease.
In shopping centers, women will receive medical workers. Mall visitors can check their blood pressure, blood sugar, and body mass index (BMI). These data will help determine whether patients are at risk of disease and whether they need further consultation and analysis.
