Sharjah hosts another festival of light

The festival of light takes place in Sharjah, the cultural capital of the United Arab Emirates.

From February 6 to 16, 2019, as part of the Festival of Light, large-scale light performances are held in the four cities of the Sharjah Emirate (UAE).

This year, the theme of the festival, supported by Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed al-Qasimi, a member of the Supreme Council and ruler of Sharjah, was Family and Culture.

The festival events are held in several cities and towns of the emirate - in Al-Hamriya, Kalba, Khor Fakkan and Dibba. Many recognizable buildings and structures these days are decorated with copyright illuminations.

Albana Chaume, creator of the Aquatic Visions show, claims to have drawn inspiration from children's fairy tales and tried to make the most of nature's best location for the mosque on the bay in order to create a colorful world on the walls of the architectural structure.

The building of the Municipal Council and Human Resources Management will become the canvas for Vincent Masson’s colorful show entitled “Matter of Mythology”, which will tell viewers about the origin of culture in its literary manifestation.

In addition, Studio Halpeji's Heritage as a Journey show will attempt to trace the evolution of writing on the facade of the Khor Fakkan City Council and Urban Planning Department.

On the walls of Sheikh Rashid bin Ahmad al-Qasimi’s mosque in Dibba, the show “Tales in Mosaic” by Francois Dequeurb will present the stories that are usually passed down by the ancestors to new generations.

Recall that all performances are held from 18:00 to 23:00 on weekdays and from 18:00 to 0:00 on weekends.
