On the new Dubai highway increased speed

On one of Dubai’s new highways, the maximum permitted speed has been increased.

Dubai Emirate Traffic Police increased the speed limit on the new Dubai highway D54 by 10 km / h.

Starting March 17, 2019, a new speed limit of 100 km / h is set on the Sheikh Zayed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan Street (D54) section between Dubai - Al Ain Road (E66) and Al Yalayes Road (D57). Previously, the limit was 90 km / h.

The road runs parallel to the two main highways of the United Arab Emirates - Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road (E311) and Emirates Road (E611), and is designed to facilitate access to cottage villages, housing estates and sports facilities in the areas of Green Community Motor City, Dubai Studio City, Arabian Ranches 2, Dubai The Villa, Falcon City, Silicon Oasis and Academic City.

At the same time, the traffic authorities of Dubai reminded that on the roads of the emirate of Dubai, a speed excess of 20 km / h is allowed in excess of that indicated on the signs and, in fact, it will be possible to move at a speed of up to 120 km / h on the indicated section of the route.

It is also worth recalling that in 2018 in the neighboring Emirate of Abu Dhabi, the authorities canceled the speed buffer at 20 km / h so that the real speed limit coincides with that indicated on the road signs. Following the metropolitan emirate, other emirates are expected to apply similar practices.
