The Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Meets with the Ruler of Saudi Arabia

Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and King Salman discussed the tense situation in the region.

On August 12, 2019, the Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the UAE's Armed Forces, Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, discussed the situation in Yemen with the King of Saudi Arabia, Salman Ibn Abdul-Aziz Al Saud, in Mecca. Leaders called on pro-government forces in Yemen to negotiate a settlement of recent tensions in Aden after several days of clashes.

Sheikh Mohammed also said that both countries will "confront any forces that threaten the security of the region."

Last week, the South Yemen Transitional Council announced a general mobilization. Muhammad al-Hadrami, Deputy Foreign Minister of Yemen, called the coup d'état of the separatists in Aden.

Before the talks in Mecca, the Crown Prince was received in Jeddah by the Deputy Minister of Defense, Prince Khalid bin Salman bin Abdel Aziz.

In April of this year, Sheikh Mohammed met with King Salman in Riyadh with a delegation of ministers and senior officials of the UAE. The parties discussed issues of combating terrorism, extremism and external interference in the internal affairs of the Arab countries.
