Names of winners of the National Geographic Abu Dhabi Moments Awards photographic contest announced
For the sixth time, the National Geographic Abu Dhabi Moments Awards for young photographers took place in Abu Dhabi on the subject of food and culinary traditions in the Arab world.
The first place was taken by the artist Mohammed Benmohtar, who captured a young wife in Zagora (Morocco) who cooks couscous for her husband’s relatives, trying to make a good impression on them (the prize is a trip to Japan and photo equipment worth 27,500 dirhams).
The second place (prize - $ 5,000) went to Omani photographer Mohammed Albaday with a photograph of a man in Dofar who cooks macadid meat.
The third place (prize - $ 2,500) was taken by Mohammad Nasr from Egypt, mesmerized by the charisma of a rural woman in a scarf, who in his photo cleans the mountain of ears of corn.
"Our task is to show the passion and skill of the young generation of artists from Arab countries, whose values we fully share and value," says Almarai Public Relations Director Husam Abdulkader.
