LOUVRE MUSEUM ABU DHABI

Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) announced the imminent completion of the Louvre Abu Dhabi project. According to representatives, it has been implemented by more than 95% and this summer, in July or August, it will be transferred to the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (TCA). The opening of the museum will take place in December 2016 or in January 2017.

The opening of the Louvre Abu Dhabi was originally planned for 2012, but this date was postponed until the end of 2014, and then moved to the end of 2016. The Louvre will be the first of three museums on the island of Saadiyat. Following it, the Sheikh Zayed National Museum and the Guggenheim Museum in Abu Dhabi will open.
