New bike lanes appear in Dubai

THE DUBAI ROAD AND TRANSPORT COMMITTEE CONTINUES THE WORK ON TRANSFORMING DUBAI TO A CITY CONVENIENT FOR BIKERS.
In the Dubai districts of Mizhar, Mirdif, Sufouh, Umrn Suqeim, Jumeirah and Al Barsha, new bicycle lanes will soon appear as part of a project to expand the cycle network. The project was launched in 2012, its goal is to create 900 km of bike paths and bike paths in Dubai. Next in line are Bur Dubai, Discovery Gardens, Al Furjan, Green Community Village and Dubai Investment Park. There are bicycle racks at metro stations.

The Dubai Sports Committee and the Dubai Cycling Federation are working on the project together with the committee, because the main objective of the project is to cultivate an active lifestyle and stimulate the use of cycling not only for recreation, but also for moving short distances to the place of work or study.
