The name of the billionaire from Abu Dhabi is gradually "erased" from the face of the desert

A few years ago, Sheikh Hamad bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, a member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi, who owns the deserted island of Al Futaisi, “engraved” his name “Hamad” right on the sand, which was visible even from space. The length of the inscription was 3 km, the length of each of the letters was 500 m.

As evidenced by the data from space images, in 2010, channels were dug through the letters stencil, which were partially filled with water, so that the name could be seen even more clearly. However, today similar images indicate that the canals are covered with sand, and the project itself was never completed until the end. This is due to the fact that such projects do not fit into the development strategy of Abu Dhabi until 2030, according to which it is planned to turn the oil-rich region into a major cultural center, which will house branches of the world's leading museums - the Paris Louvre and the New York Guggenheim. It is worth noting that Sheikh Hamad is also known in the UAE as a philanthropist who actively supports the development of medicine. In addition, he owns a museum of rare cars, in which he has already collected more than 200 exotic cars. He added to his collection a custom-made Bugatti L'Or Blanc, equipped with a porcelain caviar tray. As a gift for the wedding, he gave his wife a Mercedes car painted in all colors of the rainbow, for which he even received the nickname "Rainbow Sheikh".

It is also known that he owns the world's largest Dodge Power Wagon truck, which is 64 times its original size. Inside it is a whole apartment, equipped with all amenities and suitable for housing even in the middle of the desert. Finally, in the Hamad Museum there is also a residential van, also made on his individual order, the size of which is one millionth of the planet Earth.
