Paris in the palm of your hand

BOUCHERON'S FAMOUS FRENCH JEWELRY HOUSE CELEBRATES 150TH ANNIVERSARY. In honor of the anniversary of the legendary Place Vendôme, in the so-called Golden Triangle of Paris, where according to tradition there is the main BOUTIQUES OF ALL the famous French jewelry brands, TODAY is a collection HAUTE COUTURE AND FRESH views on fashion big-name jewelers, happening at different times for the home. ONE OF THE MASTERPIECES - A CULT QUATRE COLLECTION.

Founded in 1858 at Palais Royal, Boucheron quickly won the love of Parisians, and after moving in 1893, the company became the first jewelry house on Place Vendome. According to legend, Frederick Boucheron chose the lightest corner in the square to make the diamonds shine as bright as possible. The jeweler immediately set the tone: the energetic traveler loved to discover unexplored places, from where precious stones were later delivered. Contemporary-style jewelery designed in the finest traditions of jewelry art has earned Boucheron a reputation as a "workshop of light." However, the entire 150-year history of the Boucheron House and its rich jewelry heritage is, first of all, a serious responsibility, manifested in a respectful and caring attitude to the unique craftsmanship and heritage of the company, as well as in a sincere desire to preserve and pass it all on to future generations. The famous House is still located in the most prestigious area of Paris and pleases customers with new ideas and techniques.

Each of Quatre's jewelery is distinguished by its bold design and an original combination of different types of gold and textures. Experts say that Quatre rings are the embodiment of the Boucheron style and allow you to appreciate the unique skill of jewelers who perfectly master the secrets of precious metal processing. Four types of gold - white, yellow, pink and "chocolate" (or black), which are used to create the collection, are protected by a patent as a unique development.

Effectively reflecting the glare of light, each of the Quatre rings became the embodiment of Paris itself: the architecture of the fashionable capital, its creative power and the shimmering sparkle of glamorous evenings. It concentrates four jewelry techniques that laid the foundation for the House's reputation: guilloche, a line of diamonds, a Parisian marigold pattern and a grogro ribbon. Guilloche - the technique of applying gold elements "side by side", was discovered by Frederick Boucheron in 1889. It was used in the famous creations of the House - in the Reflet watch of 1947 and the debut wedding collection of 2003. Guilloche symbolizes the union of loving people.

Its effect lies in the brilliance of two identical in volume lines at any angle of inclination: this is achieved by skillfully polishing gold.

The graphic pattern of the "nails of Paris" reflects the modern exemplary technique of working with gold. The house often resorted to it for decorating cases for lipsticks and other beauty accessories of 1950. In order to achieve elegant graphics, a complex technique is required to work with the proportions, symmetry, angles and faces of the stones. The graphic pattern reflects the modern exemplary technique of working with gold.

The final link is made in the technique of repeating the corsage tape, or "grogro", adds the finishing touch to the collection. Like all iconic Boucheron patterns, the “grogro” conveys the skill of jewelers - giving the dynamics of movement to gold. The corsage pattern was inspired by kinetic art, one of the main movements in 20th century art. The contrasting play of black and white creates chiaroscuro, which add volume to the jewelry. The elegant pattern was used by the jewelers of the House in cigarette cases of the 1950s. Diamonds have always been the focus of Boucheron. The purity of precious stones brought glory to the House, and vintage collections such as Cascade de Diamants, Paon de Lune, Perles d'Eclat, Soleil Radiant have repeatedly served as a source of inspiration for creating new jewelry masterpieces. The methods of processing, polishing and planting diamonds have been improved and passed down from generation to generation. Boucheron was able to extract unique stones for work. So, at the auction of 1887, when the diamonds of the French crown left the auction, the enterprising jeweler was among the leading buyers. A valuable acquisition marked the beginning of a series of royal-style jewelry. Today, the diamonds in the Quatre series make the items brighter, sculpturally creating vibrant highlights.

Quatre's classic collection inspired jewelers to create Quatre Follies engagement rings. In 2011, the House launched the White Edition collection in white gold. The jewelry is enriched with new material: white ceramics marked with the pattern of "Parisian marigolds". Boucheron spent more than two years on researching material. As it turned out, not in vain: the matte white color of ceramics gives the ring a tenderness. Last year, the House introduced the new Black Edition collection with a combination of black and white gold. Modern, elegant graphics of jewelry add to her style and rock and roll spirit. The effect of black gold is also reflected in the pattern of "marigolds of Paris" and reflects the glamor of the night capital. Connoisseurs of style - Karin Reutfield, ex-editor of the French "Vogue", actors Tomer Sisley, Charlotte Rampling and Christine Scott Thomas wear Quatre. For many, the collection has already become a symbol of Paris ... After all, they say that the ring from Boucheron sits on your finger, like the Bridge of Arts bordering the Seine, it is modern and artistic, like the Center Pompidou. And, of course, illuminates the palm, as if the illumination of the Eiffel Tower.
